Design Build Weekend

We spent a long weekend working with Sergio Palleroni and his PSU Capstone class, who had designed some new life into an alcove at the back of SES. This space is used by the Sustainability Coordinator, Aaron, as a storage area, for new plant starts, tools, compost and the odd bit of unused playground equipment. Besides cleaning the area, we installed a hanging roof structure to work out of the rain, a water catchment system to collect roof runoff and gravity feed a hose and a sink to wash vegetables. A large bench was built in front of the iron gate where climbing vines can grow and students can sit and leave messages on the new chalkboard.
